Google™ Voice is a wonderful tool. Whether you are a new company, large or small, or an individual, Google™ Voice has so many possibilities. Imagine you are a freelancer and you have merely a cell phone to your name. Your plan includes the minimum amount of minutes and you have no desire to go over your alloted time. No problem! Get a free Google™ Voice number and you instantly have a business line. You can even set it up in other area codes or search for your new number by using words. Imagine if you were a tutor and your number included "Tutor". Pretty cool! But the buck does not stop there. That was merely the tip of the iceberg. Google™ Voice does not just ring one of your devices, cell phone for example; it rings every device you put on your account. Now you can have one number which rings your house phone, office phone, cell phone, garage phone, and more. You can even switch phones during a call by pressing the star(*) key. Press it, wait for all the phones to ring again, pick up another line and continue your call. Too easy. Google™ Voice can be used for voicemail as easy as email, free US long distance, low rates on international calls, and many calling features like transcripts, call blocking, call screening, conference calling, SMS, and more. I would not be surprised to see receiving faxes on that list before long. But don't hold me to it. Google has a lot going on and progress is slow. The best features however are probably yet to come. Yes you can record during a call and it will save the recording to your inbox. Yes you can listen as people leave voicemails and even interrupt if you feel it is important enough. And yes, you can conference call all day, text from the online interface, and call your own Google™ Voice to get GOOG411. But... What if you could do more? Imagine if you travel a lot. What if you could log on and state which country you were in. A call to your Google™ Voice number would then ring your local number in that country. Or what if it itself went international and you could get Google™ Voice numbers in other countries. I wont make promises but one day this new features will exist. For now though, go to Google™ Voice, request and invite and enjoy. Come back and comment and let me know what you think. Google™ Voice does not currently have an iPhone app because of a little grudge between Apple and Google™. Look below for more info. Click to enlarge images.

Google™ Voice is a great new tool from Google. With Google, the largest search engine on the web, making headway daily with Google™ Voice there is no telling when it will leave beta status. One is for sure though; and that is that it will one day leave beta status.
